Synopsis
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, plays a game to seize the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022), but failed. However, for his own series, the character is portrayed as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood casting a skinny, handsome actor and giving him huge prosthetics and a big suit… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors. I also didn’t really understand why this spin-off was happening, and to be honest, I’m sick of Batman reboots.
But I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did
But after episode 1, I will confirm that this series is great (so far). I watched it knowing only that it was a bridge between the first and second movies to watch and my surprising enjoyment of Farrell as the first. The acting is amazing, the writing is amazing, and it surprised me with some quick twists.
What I liked most was the fact that it had a lot more color than Batman
I noticed it almost immediately because it was a huge complaint about the movie for me (it was like watching it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope it continues to be this good because I’m really looking forward to the next installment.
